Interview with Jean-Christophe Angelini – Président of ADEC
Boost the development of digital economy in Corsica, here is one of the main goals of Bastia Ville Digitale. All along the week, the Corsican Tech is organizing conferences and meetings between startups, speakers and people coming from all over Corsica. An event supported by Jean-Christophe Angelini, president of the Agence de Développement Économique de la Corse.
Why are you in Bastia today ?
“The ADEC which I have the chance to chair, is an historic partner of Corsican Tech. So when it is organizing with the city of Bastia the event Bastia Ville Digitale, that is well-known in Corsica now, I have to be here with the companies, the administrations, and the project leaders who come every years to anim the event.
So that is before all a “protocol” presence, but also a presence dear to my heart. And I think that all institutions have to support that beautiful event.”
How ADEC can support Corsican startups ?
“We are working a lot to catch up our carrence in that sector. In the last July, we voted to invest 60 millions euros on the digital for the next 3-4 years in order to success our ambitious wish : To make Corsica a country of startups in the next 5-7 years.”
The economy of Corsica in 5-10 years ?
“Sociologically, culturally, and because it is an island, Corsica is ready to welcome a real culture of entrepreneurship around innovation and startups. On the one hand, that culture will be dedicated to startups, innovations and digital. I think we have beautiful examples to promote and support. On the other hand, I see an economy that tends to digital. Today, someone who wants to establish himself in the countryside needs a good flow, a good localization, a nice fiscal environment, and also the ability to innove in his own sector. More than startups and companies of digital sector, all companies of all sectors have to tend to the digital transition.”
